So, been a bit on the sick side lately. Not a full-blown case of the flu or anything, more like a general malaise. I could swear I've had a fever, but the thermometer doesn't necessarily agree, so I'm not really sure what's going on.
To switch topics entirely, tonight I've been working on encoding a few clips to DVD-compatible mpeg2 use TMPGEnc. I've been running into some weird issues though -- for one clip, when I attempt to encode the source huffyuv file directly, the resulting mpeg file ends up with some weird pulsing artifacts. If I encode the source file to Xvid, I get no such artifacts. The really strange thing is that if I take that high-bitrate Xvid and encode it to mpeg2, the resulting mpeg2 file is just fine. I really have no idea what's going on.
