After my experience attempting to install Deus Ex: The Conspiracy, my willingness to buy PC games has decreased dramatically. After patching to version 1.2, supposedly necessary to make the game playable, SecureROM 5 prevents me from playing the game. Eido's solution? I should buy a new fucking optical drive! So my purchase is rendered worthless.
On the other hand, certain other comic authors were able to aquire the game from their so-called peers and play without a hitch. So the next time I want to play a PC game, what do you think I'm going to do? I'll give you a hint: I'm not going to play sixty fucking dollars to be treated like a criminal and receive a defective product.
Maybe the 360 will support a keyboard and mouse for Quake 4 and other PC-native games. Then I could just avoid the PC's "copy protection" bullshit altogether.
