At my old apartment complex, Halloween was something of an actual event. I'd buy a bunch of candy, and swarms of cute, custumed little kids would come by to claim it. I enjoy loading kids down with sweets, so this arrangement worked out pretty well.
Last year was my first year at the current complex, and I assumed things would be much the same. Instead, nobody came calling; come the next Monday I was begging coworkers to take candy off of my hands. So this year I didn't buy any candy. Naturally, around 6:00 PM a couple of kids came 'round. I felt bad about not having any goodies for them, but nobody else came by all night. I guess my decision not to pick up any candy was the right one.
