People are weird

This evening I realized that I needed bread for lunch tomorrow. So, it was off to the grocery store with me. As I am wont to do, I was driving too fast with the windows open and the stereo too loud. So I pull up to a stop light with White Zombie's Black Sunshine blaring away, next to a car filled with people roughly my age (probably a bit younger). And one of them rolls down a window and tries to shout something at me. He's loud enough that he gets my attention, but of course I can't make out what he's saying. I take the 'ignore them and maybe they'll go away' tact, but he shouts again. So I mute the stereo, and the following ensues:

me: What?
him: We have phones!
me: Yay?
other people in car: Phones! Fo-uns!
him: Do you want one?
me: Umm, no thanks?

At this point I turned the stereo up a little more and turned away from them. After the light turned green it seemed like they were following me, but they broke off after I parked in the grocery store parking lot. (Or maybe they were just driving that way anyway and I'm being paranoid.)

About the Comic

Justin is, umm, busy or something (I guess), so it fell to me to do today's comic all by my lonesome. I promised Justin that I would "... make the most incomprehensible pga evar!" And I tried. I actually completed two different PGAs for today, but in addition to being incomprehensible, they both completely sucked. Also, one was completely derivative of a previous SGD (which I didn't even realize until I finished it). So, instead I went with this. The idea of simply sticking the text from a script into an actual comic with no drawings has been kicking around in my head for a while. I thought it was pretty amusing, but some other people thought it was just sad. So I guess there's no accounting for taste. In any event, this was a script I wrote a while ago that Justin veto'ed on the grounds that the art was far too much effort. I think it also makes a fitting tribute now, anyway.

A tribute to me?

I've been busy, I suppose, but I guess the deadline has been moved back. I also don't know what precisely needs to be done by then, but I guess it's just "as much as you can."

Reminder for everyone who stopped watching adult swim because the good stuff started coming on too late (and was reruns), this sunday marks the rebirth of slightly-less-late new Birdmans, ATHFs, and Sealabs. Hooray!

The dead girl. That's who.

So, basically what you're saying is that you could've done a comic yesterday, but left us with this instead anyway. I'm sure our ever abundant fans must be mortified to hear that.

As a heads up, there's a lovely sale at Right Stuf through June 2 -- 33% off retail on AnimEigo DVDs. Plus it stacks with GotAnime.

All Comic Scripts, All The Time!

Man, that kind of webcomic would be so awesome... :p

Well, I enjoyed being able to get to sleep early on a thursday night... so I have no regrets.

...You mean, the frozen dead girl?

On to my left pinky finger news. I have to use it a whole bunch when doing web programming as almost all the special characters I use are on the right side of the keyboard. In the past couple days, my pinky started getting tired-feeling after some intense programming, so I puttered around for awhile and found out how to remap the caps lock key to be a shift key, and now my finger is happier.

No, that other dead girl. The one from TV.

If you didn't use that ridiculous traditional touch typing style, you'd be much better off.

Also, I seem to have forgotten what I actually wanted to write this rant about. But that's not going to stop me from posting it.
